Move your Diablo 2 Resurrected character's files back to the PC you used to play the original game if they are still on a hard drive.
Go to Local Disk (C:) > Users > (Players' username) > Saved Games if you already have Diablo 2 installed.
Character files with the suffix.ds will be listed. You can either copy or drag the desired file to your desktop.
Paste/move the file into your Diablo 2 Resurrected character folder from here. Nearly identical to the original Diablo 2 in terms of gameplay mechanics
You should now be able to play Diablo 2 Resurrected with your old character. Select your characters from your Offline characters.
Tips for converting your Diablo 2 character over to the new version.
In order for this to work, you must already have a Diablo 2 Resurrected folder with a character created in it. You can't transfer files if the folder hasn't been created yet.
All equipment, talents, and stash contents will be carried over by the character. This includes high-value legendary items and Diablo 2 Resurrected runes. Playing as they did in the original game is expected. There's even an option to visit Akara and change your talents and stats there.
Because old characters cannot be moved to console versions of the game, it is unfortunate. However, it's easy to understand why Blizzard would want to keep them unavailable. Even with the game's already-existing faults, no one wants to compete with players who have been unfairly leveled and have been subjected to hacking.
