Top 10 Linebackers in College Football 25 Ultimate Team

Here we're diving into the Top 10 Linebackers in College Football 25 Ultimate Team. Before we start, I want to apologize for missing out on Xavier Rreo in my wide receiver list. Trust me, it’s tough with all the upgrades happening, but Rreo is one of the best in the game. Hopefully, I won’t leave anyone out this time! Let’s jump right into the linebacker list, starting with number 10.

10. Colin Oliver

I know some of you are already thinking, "Tai, here we go again with Colin Oliver. Get rid of him!" But I can’t stop talking about this card! He’s got great speed, acceleration, and can get after the quarterback. However, my favorite part is his 87 Zone Coverage—the best outside linebacker in coverage who can still rush the passer a bit. I’m not trying to overhype him, but he’s still on my squad to this day. With his versatility, Colin Oliver is locked in at number 10.

9. Chris Paul Jr.

Chris Paul Jr. is a middle linebacker who does it all. He’s good in zone coverage, has decent speed, and can get after the quarterback when blitzing. His block shedding is decent—not amazing, but it gets the job done. He’s also a great option if you run a blitz-heavy scheme. His change of direction and zone coverage make him a solid user linebacker. I think he's underrated and definitely deserves recognition as one of the best linebackers in the game.

8. Bente

This one could be controversial because some people might think Bente should be ranked higher. However, I believe this spot is perfect for him. Bente is not great at rushing the passer and has a 72 block shed, which isn’t ideal. But if you’re looking for a linebacker strictly for coverage, Bente’s your guy. With 88 speed, 89 zone coverage, and excellent pursuit, he’s a beast in coverage. Just don’t expect him to be effective in stopping the run or pressuring the quarterback.

7. Shan Doak

Shan Doak has been around for a while and is one of the best user linebackers in the game. He boasts 88 speed, great tackling, and solid block shedding. He’s not going to miss tackles, which makes him invaluable. You could argue that Chris Paul Jr. is better than Doak, but in my opinion, Doak edges him out slightly due to his versatility and consistent play. He’s a well-rounded linebacker who can do it all, earning him the number seven spot.

6. Chandler Martin

Chandler Martin almost didn’t make this list, but I had to include him. There’s one major downside to Martin—his zone coverage is horrible, so if you like dropping your linebackers into coverage, stay away from him. However, if you need a pure pass rusher, Martin is phenomenal. With 88 speed, 93 finesse move, and the ability to get after the quarterback like no one else, he’s one of the best pass-rushing linebackers in the game. He’s the opposite of Bente—terrible in coverage, but lethal as a pass rusher.

5. Isaiah Glasker

Cracking the top five is Isaiah Glasker from BYU. Like Bente, Glasker excels in coverage but is slightly better at rushing the passer. With 88 speed, 90 acceleration, and 89 zone coverage, he’s an absolute force in pass defense. What sets Glasker apart is his 6'5" height, which gives him an advantage in making plays on the ball. He doesn’t have the best block shed, but he’s more balanced than Bente, making him a top-five linebacker.

4. Clay Matthews

Clay Matthews is one of the rare linebackers in the game who can do both—rush the passer and play coverage. He has 88 speed, 89 acceleration, and excellent change of direction. His 88 power move and 89 block shed make him a beast on the edge, while his zone coverage is solid enough to handle passing situations. Matthews is nearly perfect, and there’s very little to criticize. He’s a complete linebacker, deserving of the number four spot.

3. Jay Higgins

Jay Higgins from Iowa is an absolute monster, especially when it comes to stopping the run. With 90 block shed, 93 tackling, and 93 hit power, he’s a run-stopping machine. But don’t sleep on his ability to play the pass—he’s got 88 speed, 89 acceleration, and 84 zone coverage, making him a versatile linebacker. He’s one of the most complete linebackers in the game, though he is a bit pricey at 318,000 coins. If you need someone to shut down the run and still hold their own in coverage, Higgins is your guy.

2. Luke Kuechly

Luke Kuechly is the best user linebacker in the entire game, hands down. Standing at 6'3" with 88 speed, 89 acceleration, and 87 zone coverage, he’s a force in pass defense. He won’t be effective as a pass rusher, but that’s not what Kuechly is for. He’s a great tackler and can stuff the run with his 85 block shed. The only downside is his steep price—820,000 coins on Xbox. But if you can afford him, Kuechly is worth every coin.

1. Jaylen Walker

Finally, we have the best linebacker in the game—Jaylen Walker. If you need a pass rusher, Walker is the man. He’s essentially a better version of Chandler Martin, with great speed, acceleration, and power moves. His block shedding is excellent, and he’s going to get after the quarterback like nobody else. While he’s terrible in coverage, Walker’s pass-rushing ability more than makes up for it, making him the top linebacker in College Football 25 Ultimate Team.
